" Fredda Psaltis will have her first
one-woman exhibition of the Healingstar of Peace."

October 23, 2005

Miami Beach October 2005 - The AJ Japour Gallery is pleased to announce that Fredda Psaltis will have her first one-woman exhibition of the Healingstar of Peace opening on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at the Jewish Museum of Florida, 301 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For additional information, contact Steven Kravitz at 305-672-5044 ext. 21 or visit the website at www.jewishmuseum.com

The Healingstar of Peace was inspired by the Kabbalistic model of the universe known as the Tree of Life. Each gem stone symbolizes one of the ten sephirot or divine emanations. The center stone represents the Da'at, the unifying element that holds the key to all the "chambers".

Fredda Psaltis, the creator of the work describes her vision: "the Healinstar of Peace was born on an airplane. . . I quickly sketched the first draft on a napkin . . . at the center sat the traditional peace sign surrounded by interfaith symbols . . . every facet was revealed . . . the puzzle was solved. The stones adorning its points would emanate the healing energies found in sacred ancient texts. The purpose of the Healingstar of Peace is to heal on a personal (microcosmic) energetic level as well as a global (macrocosmic) level."

Dr. Anthony Japour, director and curator of the AJ Japour Gallery, comments on the Healingstar of Peace: " I was immediately taken by the concept behind the work. . . to me the Healingstar of Peace offers a symbol for hope, peace, unity, understanding and acceptance of all peoples regardless of their religious or cultural beliefs."

The original napkin and the prototype of the Healingstar of Peace made of 18kt gold, sterling silver, and Fredda Psaltis and the AJ Japour Gallery will gift precious gemstones to the Jewish Museum's permanent collection.
